Where is the best place to get chicks at this time of year, that has a good variety and not expensive both for the chicks and the shipping? I'm in Michigan. Does it make a difference how far the hatchery is from me as to the cost for shipping them? I know they want them to be safe and healthy when they get here. I looked at one hatchery and with a variety of 12 chicks at around $43.00 the shipping was over $50.00. Yikes! is that normal for most or all hatcheries? If you can't tell this is the first time...lol!
