Posted - Feb 25 2015 : 3:32:30 PM Last night, Carmelita delivered triplets, 2 bucks, 1 doe. That makes 7 buck this year Momma and kids are fine.
Little Jack, one of Mocha's quads, is doing well up to 7 ounces of formula, three times during the day. All of the previous kids are eating goat chow and beginning to chew hay. We will be keeping Jack and possibly the doe. When I figure out how to post pictures, I will.

Posted - Mar 31 2015 : 4:27:58 PM The kids born as twins or triplets must be super small at birth! Goodness, 3 in a tiny goat! Wow! Nigerian Dwarves are so adorable!

Posted - Mar 31 2015 : 1:17:14 PM Usually one kid the first time and then, whatever the mom was, twin, triplet or quadruplet, but I have overachievers this year: keep in mind I have Nigerian Dwarves about the same size as German Shepard dog. Moch had 4 boys (mom is a triplet) Dulce had 1 boy (mom is a twin and this is her 3rd time to kid) Carmelita had 2 boys and 1 girl (mom is a twin) Just goes to show what is normal may not happen.
We sold all of the boys but the runt Jack (from Mocha) and Carmelita's little doe her name is Lucha.

Posted - Mar 31 2015 : 07:20:54 AM I hope everyone is in good health and that everything is great. New babies are the best. My sister had 40 kids born this year and she is keeping 1 buck and 3 does. I might be getting one myself. Have fun with the new babies.

Posted - Feb 25 2015 : 4:49:39 PM Congrats, Kathryn. I like your pick after you mentioned the 7 bucks. It's so funny how boy animals are not the prized ones. When my goats are giving birth, the first thing we look at is sex. When it's a boy I usually say, 'Dang it, another stinkin' boy'. My hubby always says the male species on our farm get no respect. hee hee
