Posted - Feb 16 2015 : 10:32:43 AM We have a runt that we are bottle feeding. At first we gave him milk from his mom, for 2-3 days, then she started taking care of him, and quit again. I got in touch with Meyenberg Goat Farm, for the dilution ratio, 3 ounces canned goat milk, 6 ounces distilled or boiled and cooled water. Saturday, we started feeding him again, mom's milk. Yesterday, we started 1/2 formula with 1/2 mom milk. Wednesday we will go to 3/4 canned milk to mom milk, for 3 days and finally to all canned milk formula. Hope this helps so of you out. Sure has been a help for us. His name is Jack, yes we will neuter and keep him as a pen buddy for yearly buck, Little Sal.

Posted - Feb 16 2015 : 1:46:39 PM You're being a busy and very attentive goat mommmy. When I've had to bottle feed, I've used the powdered colostrum and the powdered livestock milk. I've never used the canned milk before. But, I bet it's easier to keep on hand than the big bucket of powdered milk. I'll have to try that next time. Thanks!
