A neighbor let us pick whatever we wanted from his orchard as he is done. So, we loaded up a couple hundred pounds of apples for our pigs (and some for us too!). They are in Hog Heaven! Two of the girls choose Golden Delicious over the Red and it is funny to watch them nudge the red ones out of the way to get to the goldens

Cindy, we raise Large Black heritage hogs. We do have a couple of crosses Hamp/Duroc and Large Black. They are very docile and sweet. Yes, they did eat up all the apples before fermenting. I had to laugh at what a sight that would be to see drunken pigs :)

Michele, definitely full bellies! They love their bellies rubbed especially after eating :) And it didn't take them long at all to polish off those apples!

Sara, you are so sweet and thoughtful! We really do love our pigs and they are spoiled!

Thanks ladies for the comments!

Sharon, One word comes to mind when I look at your pictures. Contentment. Enough to eat, someone to love us, & a place to sleep. Your pigs are blessed with all three.

I got a kick out of the last photo, Full Belly! It won't take them long to eat them up.

They look very happy. What breed are they? Are they a heritage breed?Hope they eat the apples before they ferment--if not, you'll have drunken pigs. That conjures up the weirdest image in my mind.
