Hi all! We have had our chickens for about 4 months now. One/Some have just started laying eggs over the last week. Yesterday we had an egg and next to it was bloody stool. Today, there are no eggs, but more bloody stool. I have no clue what to do or ho to find out if they have an infection. We have looked at all their vents and cannot figure out which one it is - all of them are acting completely normal. Advice?

Shannon this could be a sign of coccidia. You can treat that with a product called Corid. Also I found out through a natural chicken site that they shed the lining of the intestines every so often.Since I cannot see what it looks like here is a link to this site and you can look at the different poos to figure out what is going on with your chickens. Believe it or not they have a poo chart that shows normal poos and bad poos with a description. Hope this helps.

This is the link to the coccidioses link. Keep in mind this blog only deals in natural cures. If you think this is what you have then do what you think is best. But they have tons of good prevention and natural chicken keeping on this blog. I really like this site.
