We weren't sure if our Hampshire/Duroc Gilt was in a piggy way, turns out she was. From evidence of the rendevous we figured that the 25th was the due date, I guess we missed by one day :)

This was a totally new experience for us and exciting too. Rosie would not eat breakfast yesterday or dinner and when we checked on her in the shelter there was a hay stack in the middle of the floor. She dropped and we got milk from her teats around 4:30pm. The first pig was born about 9:30pm and the last at 12:10am. We have 8 little ones that are adorable. We did lose one (the 9th one), it was born with a very faint heartbeat and we tried to revive it, but it didn't make it. The others are doing great.

Rosie is a great mom and very protective. Endeavour (the dad) has been sleeping outside of the shelter. He is a Large Black.

Thank you so much ladies!

I am so excited because this is our first time raising animals and they are doing so good! Rosie is the best Mom and the babies have already grown so much.

When Rosie leaves the shelter the piglets start roughhousing until she comes back in. They are so cute how they frolick :)
