As you've supported me in the past with requests for my cats, I have another prayer request.

My dear sweet Duncan is in declining health (or at least appears to be). He is 17 years old and has blessed my life in so many ways. He has not been sick with a particular illness but just over the last week or so, I've noticed that he is not eating and drinking as much, therefore he is not using the litter box as much. He has also stopped grooming.

My husband tells me I worry too much, but this is also the man who has not worked in over a year and has a habit of breaking promises to me (another story). I've lost two cats in the past 2-1/2 years; I see the signs.

Please pray that whenever the time comes, Duncan will go peacefully. I will miss him terribly and it may not be his time yet but I can't help but see it coming.

Thank you all so much,
Darlene

Dear Darlene,

Please accept my sympathy for your loss. Pets are such a big part of our lives, that when they pass away it is exactly like losing a human member of the family. You were with him at the end, and I'm sure that that comforted him.

I'm sorry to hear your dear Duncan is gone.
Don't be sad that its over, just be glad you had him so close for so long!
When we get pets we know their life span will probably be shorter than our own, but they give us a lifetime of love in those years we share.

Thank you all again for your prayers and thoughts.

Duncan passed away this morning. He had been really weak the past few days and all I could do was hold him. I knew this morning something just wasn't right, so I called in to work to say I wouldn't be in today. That was about 6:00am. Duncan passed about 10:30am.

I'm glad he is not suffering any more but I'm tearful as I type this and feel such a void in my soul. Time does heal but please pray for me.

Hugs to all,
Darlene

Thank you all so much for your prayers; please continue. Duncan is doing about the same but I have drawn comfort from your thoughts and your comments which I know are genuine, and that means so much.

Darlene I hope he does better but understand about his age. I love my cats and have lost many over the years. Each one is so special and its so very hard to let them go. I hope when the time comes he will go peacefully or the vet can help him cross over. Hugs to you both.
