Thinking of investing in some electronet this year and ranging the meat birds (freedom rangers or such) ~~ BUT the price is so high!

Those of you who do use electronet, could you please share pros & cons? How does it weather over summer sun and winter usage? Is it something that lasts successfully for years and years? Does it keep out predators such as foxes and raccoons? Any words of wisdom?

Also - any "best price" places to purchase it?

Thanks for your ideas!! :)

I have 300 feet. if you have crazy chickens it will not work. I have to many to clip wings on. they go right over. we also have large bird predators. I have finally made some thing that works. we use pvc pipe. I made squares with it. it qould look like a box made from Lincoln logs. we covered it with 2x4 wire. it has a roof. I can move it around. they go from chicken tractor for night to the yard through a wire tube. I have had tubes as long as 50 or more feet. they will walk in the tube to where I put the pvc cage. I love my netting for larger stock. we have a lot of trees so its harder to use. I think the one that rolls up would work better. I am small and I have a hard time rolling and moving. flat pasture is where I see it going a good job. I do prefer the one I have when the whole fence is part of the grounding. so when a cow touches it any where it grounds throu them and bam. hope this helps you some. I will only buy roll up now. I do like my charger. happy days to you, sherrye

Hi Sheila,
I have used it for years for my sheep, it works very well as a temporary fence. They really are very good fences and premier1supplies.com being the best place to buy (I think). They will keep just about everything out or in. My sheep know and respect the fence ... I don't even have to turn mine on half the time. But, just remember that they are not ment to be a forever or permanent fence.
But have used mine for 3 years at a time.
