Posted - Nov 29 2013 : 2:46:38 PM One of my little cuckoos just laid her first egg! She decided that the grit bowl was just the place so it's a bit scratched up but I think it's just beautiful! I tried to get a pic of it, but lighting is awful right now in my kitchen. I'm so proud

Posted - Dec 15 2013 : 2:23:56 PM Had a good moment today. Made a young boys day. Grandson's friend said it was so fun being at our place. He was thrilled with the animals and that we had eggs!

Posted - Dec 03 2013 : 2:20:37 PM First eggs are always exciting! Our hens have been laying for awhile but I sure do not get tired of gathering. Simple joys! We recently aquired turkeys, so the waiting till next year when they start laying is so long. Hope to be able to harvest and have a homegrown grown turkey for Thanksgiving. It will be a first!

Posted - Dec 03 2013 : 12:27:56 PM Congratulations Annika! It truly is SO "Egg-citing" when you get that first egg! It's amazing really, to think that these animals can provide fresh food for us, simply by us taking care of them. It's always fun trying to figure out who laid which egg too! Have fun with them! Posted - Nov 29 2013 : 2:59:53 PM Hi Annika, Isn't it exciting! My six little chickens just started to lay about 2 weeks ago. They're such a nice color and so pretty too. I've got about 10 so far. Shannon |
