my dog is extremely upset with me because i have cut off her supply of treats- the two that she truly loved are on the list of those to be watched made in China--

she gets quite mouthy and unreasonable so I would like to make some for her- what recipe does anyone use? I want something she could have once a day and that possibly would help with her teeth cleaning.

I have yet to really search online- I know there are many many recipes-some mold quite quickly...some are very expensive to make..

I definitely want healthy but I also want practical and would love to use a recipe that someone has already tried!

It makes me so angry about the dog treats made in china!! Here is a good recipe and easy too!

Snickerpoodles

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup honey
2 eggs
3 3/4 cups white flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cornmeal
2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix vegetable oil, shortening and honey with eggs and beat well. Add flour, soda and cream of tartar. Knead dough well. Shape by rounded teaspoons into ball. Mix cornmeal and cinnamon together in a bowl and roll balls in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Press balls down with fork. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees (these burn easily, check after 5 minutes). Cool and store in airtight container.

I have 5 different recipes which use easily purchased ingredients which you may already have in your kitchen. It would be much easier for me to mail you copies. May I have your address so I may do so?

I make mine in my dehydrator, but I just saw a recipe in a magazine the other day. I'll try to post it. I haven't made them (just the meat ones in my dehydrator, which they love).
