Posted - Sep 23 2013 : 1:23:33 PM Sherone, I liked the one on your blog of the cow sniffing the camera! Our second cutting hay got behind like yours from so much rain. A lot of farmers were having their wheat sprouting before they could get it harvested!
Here's the rest of the pictures I wanted to share:

Posted - Sep 19 2013 : 08:19:25 AM Heather....I took these pictures two weeks ago. They are standing on a knoll, so the grass is pretty thin. We have had a great grass year, as we have had so much rain. It is hard, however, to put up the hay when everything is so wet. We are about a month behind on the haying. We have about 50 head of cows and 60 head of sheep. Wyoming is all about wide open spaces. If we plant a tree, we must have a prayer session every Sunday to get it to grow. *l* Keep up with the photos. There are more photos of our place on our ranch blog.

Posted - Sep 19 2013 : 07:17:12 AM Thanks for sharing girls! I LOVE cow pictures - dairy and beef.
Sherone - what time of year did you take your pictures? I notice your pasture looks nothing like mine. Hopefully I can upload some more pictures soon and you'll see what I mean. How many head do you have? I love the wide open country in the background of your pictures too!
Marybeth - What an adorable little baby! We're working on going seasonal so we don't calve in the fall or winter either. I'm always so excited for the first calf of the year!
Mary Jane - I love your little Eliza Belle. Jerseys are my favorite. (I'd love to have a mini, but I'm not sure our cows would be very nice to her. Maybe someday when we have more room). I've been waiting to get a jersey with some white on it. This year we had a Holstein bred to a jersey (which usually results in an all black jersey calf). We ended up with a jersey with white speckles that was polled too. Only problem - it was a bull :(
Michele - We have a steer that's always trying to steal the spot light too! Do you just have the jersey's for milk for yourself or do you have more dairy cows too? Your beef calf is cute too! How may beef cows do you have?
Thanks again for sharing everyone. I'll try to get some more pictures up soon, but right now I need to go work on my bread :)

Posted - Sep 18 2013 : 1:46:22 PM Here are my Jersey girls. Momma didn't pose well though. Connie, is momma, Cassie a yearling, and Trina the baby. Of course the steer has to try to get in the picture too. The second picture is one of my calves this spring.

Posted - Sep 18 2013 : 04:23:02 AM I have one Jersey cow, a heifer, a calf and 27 beef of different ages. Enough to keep me busy. Since we have had another dry summer I have been feeding hay for a while now. Will have to sell a few.
