My little ladies are almost three months old I was going to get chicks, but spotted these girls on Craigslist a few weeks ago, these pics are a about two weeks ago,and they've grown so much since then! I am building a big coop, but ran out of funds and go zip and had to wait a week

They are two gold laced Wyandottes, and three black cuckoo Marans. They gold laced are Willametta and Constance and the three Maran are Prudence, Juanita (named after a calm and thoughtful black lab in the family) and...Jezabel, who is a holy terror, pest and escape artist.

They are being fed naturally and have semi-free range during the day in that they have our big fenced front yard. So far they love red cabbage, cantaloupe and cottage cheese and would arm wrestle you for cat food

They are so much fun to watch and real personalities!

Congratulations Annika! My honey and I have been talking chicks and those are two breeds we are interested in. Can you get pallets to use for building the coop? Or check Craigslist (if you haven't yet) for free materials (or low cost) You never now what you might find :) Have fun!

What a great find on craigslist! Marans are so rare... My husband finally got to order two maran chicks from the hatchery this year because they are normally out. I think yours are even more rare. How awesome! I'm so happy for you. I remember you talking about wanting chickens! Enjoy!

Oh fun for you! We just got 25 chicks and they are about 2 months old now. They are moved into the new but not yet finished coop. Your ladies look like lots of fun ahead. :)
