I have 6 chickens. I've always noticed that one is a bit fatter than the others. Lately, is seems like she is getting even fatter! Her chest is like one big bulge of fat-it wobbles from side to side when she walks, and hangs over the perch when she sits on it. Today they came running to me, and her fat bulge was swaying back and forth so much she had to stop and walk.

Could it be something besides fat? I've felt it, and it doesn't feel like a hard lump - just squishy! The rest of the chickens are fat at all. Any thoughts?

She might be retaining fluid. Also I have had chickens that have weird pockets of air under their skin. If the latter is the case just leave it be, there is nothing that can be done about it and the chicken will just live fine like that.

her crop may have something stuck in it. pick her up and feel the bulge. see is it is hard or soft and moveable. she could have a rock she picked up too big. food gathering around it in there. OR she is just a food hog and a heavier girl.
