My 13-year-old beagle has several moles and/or warts. Because of a previous blood-related illness, our holistic vet does not want to surgically remove them. She was treating them with herbal combinations up until the time my dog developed high blood pressure. Actually, I couldn't tell that those herbal concoctions helped one bit and I was paying for each and every application. I feel so sorry for my little Darcy, as she has one huge mole that hangs on the side of her mouth. Last night, after I gave her a baby carrot, I saw blood all over the place. She'd bit the mole. I freaked out, but did get everything under control. In today's paper I read in the column Dr. Fox, Animal Doctor that apple cider vinegar can be applied to warts. There was a testimony from a dog owner who had used it on her cocker spaniel. Any thoughts on this or other ideas on how to remove these growths?

I have an update on Darcy and her huge mole. Five days after the vet tied the mole off with silk suturing,it fell off!!! She looks great and I'm sure it feels good to her not to have that hideous thing hanging from her lip. She can eat much better now, too.

Took Darcy to the vet yesterday and she tied off the mole/wart with silk suture thread. It should dry up and fall off within a week. She continues to accidentally bite it while eating, but eventually there won't be any blood left because the supply has been cut off. Will update progress. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I am taking Darcy to the holistic vet tomorrow, as she is due a blood pressure check which has to be done in the office. I am going to give her this info, along with oldbittyhen's suggestion about the white thread. Darcy does have one place that looks like the one in your picture, so I guess that's definitely a wart. The other places, especially the one that hangs from her lip, looks more like a mole. I'm really uncertain as to what they are. Will let you know what the vet says.

 this is a wart that was small. i cut it off with help from the vet. it grew back huge. he said this could happen. we used bluing. it fell off in a month. you need to reapply if it fades in color. web sites say some times if you cut them they will do this. my cow is all healed up now. you can vaccinate for it if you do it before the out break. hope this helps.

we use laundry bluing. some times if you cut them they come back bigger. bluing is a mineral in a water base. works great and fast.

Wow! You know everything. The vet suggested putting a tiny rubber band around it, but I couldn't do it. I'll try the white cotton thread and let you know what happens. Thanks!

white cotten thread, tie tightly around the base, it cuts off blood supple and they dry-up and fall off, they are caused by a virus, and may come back, but it will help with them no getting to a big size...
