Posted - Feb 12 2013 : 6:20:03 PM Just placed my order with mypetchicken.com for 6 new chicks. Ordered 2 silver laced wyandottes, 2 Easter eggers and 2 welsummers . Looking forward to adding to my flock, as I have had my current gals for almost 5 years. I must say they are still good layers though!

Posted - Feb 13 2013 : 3:48:14 PM Thanks ladies- Yes we are excited here for the new chicks. I ordered them with a hatch date of 4/29 so I shoudl receive them on 4/30. This date seems to work well here in NY, because I can keep them in the house for about 5 weeks or so, and by the time they are ready to go out to the coop its Memorial Day and nice and warm here. Once they get to be 4-5 weeks they get big and start to get messy in the house, so its good timing. I have Rhode Island Reds and Austrolop now, so looking forward to the "colored" egss of the Easter Eggers, and dark chocolate type eggs from the Welsummers. Of course they are all pretty to look at, and their fresh eggs are delicious! Hugs,
