Somehow our 16 year-old housecat escaped this afternoon and is missing. He is so old, confused, and sickly I doubt he will survive outside. He is a 100% indoor cat and thus is not wearing a collar or microchip. I am devastated and so guilt-ridden I can't stand it. I can only think he must've slipped outside while I was getting the mail. My daughter is heartbroken. I keep having horrible visions of him crushed on the street or frightened and wondering where I am. I feel like the worst person on the planet right now. I could really use some kind words right now.

Oh Jessie, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GLAD you have your kitty back!
I know EXACTLY how it is . . . back in May I had started a thread about our missing "Queen"! Our 17 year-old cat named SKYE. Got her back too . .
Grateful!

Jessie I'm so glad you found him,I lost one of my bluepoint Siamese cats when we moved down to Pueblo for a short time (I hate that rotten place now) and I still sometimes feel heartsick about it when I get to thinking about my lovely Biscuits and wondering if he's still alive out there or if something terrible had happened to him.So glad it works out and your Oscar cat is home safe!

I'm glad you found your kitty. My brother's cat went missing once and he found it a couple days later in the linen closet. The cat was hungry and thirsty and they had to wash everything. I like happy endings.

Jessie, same thing happened to my 12 year old cat right after we moved here. She was sleeping in the back of our truck and my husband left in it. He said he saw her jump out about a mile up the road. He didn't tell me for a few days. I never did find her. I felt so bad for so long. And I looked all over this road and stopped at every house too. I just kept imagining her inside someone's house all nice and cozy. That helped a lot.

I am so glad you got your cat back!

All our prayers were answered...my husband found Oscar under a neighbor's (parked) car at 7:30 this morning, no worse for wear! Stinkin' cat, having everyone all upset last night....

Prayers and hugs for you. My sister recently went through this and her 14 year old cat wasn't seen for 3 days and then early on the 4th day there he was just sitting out on the sidewalk like nothing was wrong.

Praying that your furbaby returns home soon.

hugs,
-missy-

Dear Jessie Mae,

So sorry to hear about your housecat escaping. They get to be just like a member of the family when they live in the house with you.
I'll be thinking of you all tonight and hope for the best.

Annette
