Hi Everyone! I wanted to share our latest photo and remind everyone of the importance of making all of our newly adopted pets (especially those that come to us hurt and battered) feel at home. It makes such a difference in their transition to our families. This is a pic of our newest addition, Miss Fannie. She is just not sure about my husband...LoL.

Diane, what a steal of a deal on Tank. Thank goodness!! I always say just because you can have children, doesn't mean you should, and same goes for animals and breeding. People just don't realize the amount of time and money it takes in adopting a pet into your home. Okay, I better stop, cause I could just ramble on my soap box about the lack of responsibility some people have when it comes to these things. It just breaks my heart to see and hear about animal neglect and abuse. This is why I'm picketing pork from factory farms, won't buy it, won't eat it . Just say no to Factory Framing!! Anyway, have a great weekend.

Awww! Poor Liam! Parvo is such a terrible thing and I'm so glad he rebounded! I love guinea pigs, too. What a cute name for Miss Piggy!

Here is our adopted dog Liam. He had Parvo as a puppy and was abandoned at the Vet's office. Luckily he survived and is a wonderful addition to our family. We think he has chihuahua, jack russell, and hound in him. He is very smart and bays like a hound. I also have a rescued guinea pig called Miss Piggy. I am trying to learn as much as I can about them.

All of these adopted pets are so wonderful! Keep em coming!
Lorie,
Molly is the little Corgi/Australian Shepherd and she does run them all. Her full name is Molly Mahem McGee!
Tank the is English Bulldog who is from Hungary. She was a $3000 dog that cost $1500 to ship to the states. Her previous owners stuck her in a crate for two years. My DD rescued her in SC where she was working as a vet-tech. I have her now. I did not name her Tank, my DD did. I call her Ms. Tankie Tankerson or Tankie Too for short. The big boxer is Baxter. He is undergoing lymphoma cancer treatments at this time. The very light colored pitbull is Dozer. She was left for dead at the vet's office where my DD worked. She had fleas, worms and a heart murmur. She is the pillow with legs of the bunch. Last but not least is Vixon the other mut with the black snout. She is a boxer, sharpei, pitt mix and her name suits her.

This is Caja. She was released by her owners to the city animal control in a town to the north of us. The city shelter placed her in the Puppies for Parole program at the nearby correctional facility where she stayed with the inmates for two and a half months. We adopted her on June 25th. She is such a clown and has brought the house back to life with laughter and crazy antics, after all of those painful months while we assisted Sophie through her illness. No one takes the place of Sophie, but I swear if she had the power to do it, she has somehow arranged for Caja to come into our lives and make us smile again. Caja doesn't let me out of her sight while I'm in the house, and makes sure I never have a bad day.

Thanks, Lorie! I've always been a flower gardener, hence all the flowery dog names, so naming our daughter, Violet was a no brainer since it's my favorite flower, and we make Violet jelly--our back lower yard is naturalized and grows wild with sweet violets in the early spring, when she was due :) Steal away! There are so many great flower names. We also considered Poppy and Zinnia :)

Love, love, love adopted pets of all kinds!!!! Such a cute picture of that chickie with your husband. We have 4 adopted dogs, and just lost the last of our 3 adopted cats. Here is a very recent picture of my daughter, Violet and her "pet" Elie. She wanted Elie to wear the Tiara for a change :)

Every animal in this house has been adopted/rescued!

Dog, cat, bearded dragon, leopard gecko, mud turtle, 2 snakes.... only pet that has been purchased were the fish!

We will definitely adopt our next dog - since our old guy is getting up there in age.

I love your bird names! I've also got 2 Buff Orpingtons and 2 Light Brahmas, my first forey into chickens. Yes, all my babies are spoiled too but then they all deserve to be in my opinion.

Hi Audrey! I just love your pet pics. I've always loved the little terriers, and your little tabby kitty cat just owns that hallway...lol. Miss Fannie is a Silver Easter Egger as are all my girls (Bitty, Birdie, and Hattie). They are all colors, white, blue, and orange so I hope to get some varied colors in the egg basket this fall. I previously had 2 Easter Eggers that laid pink and blue-green eggs. I also have a little shizu, and a persion cat. All are spoiled rotten. I'm so glad you adopt as well!

What a cute picture! What is Miss Fannie?

Here's a picture of my newest. Just brought little Tabby home this past weekend. This kitty was found locked in a garage. Don't know how long it was in there but I think it was so happy we rescued it that it adopted us!

And then of course is my newest Cairn, Kipper. We got him from a rescue group in January.
