Today two of my little riding students (9 yr old twins girl and boy) and their mom and a teenaged cousin of theirs came and cleaned my 2 sided henhouse and 2 little pens. It was loooong over due. In return I will take them each out for a trail ride. As it turned out they finished up pretty quick and there was time for me to take the teenager on a 4 hour trail ride I was already going to with a friend. We had so much fun. Walking, trotting, running and exploring through the mountain forest. Now that's the most fun I've ever had cleanin the chicken pen. Thank you Lord for my wonderful horses that continue to bless me in so many ways :)

Oh it wasn't a surprise. Work is how they are paying for their lessons. I have never tried it before. I have traded garden veggies to take kids out to ride. And one dad rode a young horse for me in exchange for lessons for his daughter. The thing is yes these are good kids but they are doing it because I have awesome horses and they know they are in store for great fun if they do the work. Believe me I came home tired and sweaty but to a clean chicken pen. They are going to clean the goat pen next time. They are probably getting the better deal with me paying the gas to go ride and it will come out to about 12 hours of work on my part for their 2 hours. But I hate cleaning pens and I love teaching children to ride and taking folks out on trail rides. The trail rides I take people on aren't the more common $100 per hour nose to tail ride in a line thing. Mine are fun rides and for $60 we can ride till nightfall if you want. And my horses will go as slow or as fast as you want cause they have been trained to be good. People that go on our trail rides are always commenting on it being an awesome experience.

How nice of them to do that. I hope y'all enjoyed the trail ride. To me, horses and all animals are, indeed, a blessing.
