Posted - Mar 21 2012 : 10:00:12 PM My year old turkey hen, Lucille, is sitting on at least 5 eggs. I am more than excited. She is a Midget White, I raised 4 from poults last spring and kept the pair I liked best for breeding. Buster, the tom is hilarious. We had the other two for holiday meals. I am so excited to think that she will brood the babies herself..so much more fun! She has been on the nest sitting over two weeks now..so I am anxious to see if she follows through!

Posted - Apr 10 2012 : 08:15:48 AM I have high hopes. I got a smaller breed (midget whites) hoping for breeding and mothering. Looks like I got really lucky with Lucille. She has been so good. Hopefully she will do all the brooding work too and I can avoid another box in the cellar with babies.
