Mt ewe had a lamb yesterday and she doesn't have a very big udder. And she has runny poop. She is not out with the others, just hanging out in the barn with the lamb. He is always trying to nurse. I think I might have to get him some milk in a bottle soon. I am worried about the ewe though right now. Can I give her Kaopectate? Or plain yogurt? She did pass the placenta too. She just is not acting like herself.

I had a heifer that calved this year, and she just kind of stood around, and didn't know what to do. Sometimes it takes a while before they get with the program. :) Took her four hours before she started taking care of the calf and talking to her. I always say animals are like people when they have babies. Some quietly give birth, some do a lot of hollering! I hope your sheep is doing well.

Yes I agree with Tina. I raised goats for years and yes it can be a lot of different things, but I will pray that it isn't anything too bad. It can feel so horrible when ones animals are sick. Hugs!

CALL A VET...it could be sooooo many differant things, and you are taking a chance on loseing her and the lamb, plus if the lamb has not gotten any colostrum, that can be a death sentence...no one on line can help , without guessing, and guessing the wrong thing would be terrible for all involved...
