My cat, Mowgli cut himself on a broadhead a few days ago. I took him to the vet but it was to late to do stitches. (Within 12 hrs of the cut happening) She gave me an antibiotic for him because he was running a high fever. She suggests that we clean it twice a day with peroxide and water but he wont let us any were near the cut. Any suggestions on what we can do to help it heal? Thanks Sassy

There is actually a product you can buy called "CUT HEAL" from farm/ranch supply stores. It works according to my SonInLaw. Their dog got into a fight and vet wanted $800 to stitch up which he could not afford, and he bought the cutheal and it healed up right away.
I did not know about mixing Turmeric with Aloe, that is good info.

put your cat in a pillow case with head out, scruff him/her and have another person put the ointment on, neosporin/polysporin for humans works well on animals also...watch for signs of swelling/pus/heat at the injury site, don't rub the cut, dab it...

Definitely wrap the cat in a towel before you clean the wound...this will help keep it from clawing you.....sounds mean but you need to clean that wound....the reason the vet wants you to use peroxide is it will create good scar tissue....the aloe is an excellent idea...if you don't have any you can find it in the drug store in a bottle...so even with the antibiotic this would help heal it faster.....get out the treats once you unwrap the cat cause this will help calm it down a bit....Michele'

If you have some aloe vera plant or gel and some Turmeric in you spice cabinet, you can make a paste with that and put it on the cut. Do this once a day and within days he will be healed. It works on every type of cut on humans and animals. I use it all the time. It really does work. It's easy to just use the back of a spoon to put it on too.
