Posted - Feb 09 2012 : 08:05:53 AM FINALLY! Getting eggs again. Yesterday, I got 12. Yep, 12 eggs! I was a little in shock and counted a few times. But yeah, 12 eggs in one day from these gals. I have a front tribe and a back tribe. The back tribe is laying in the cat room in a dog crate. And the front tribe actually lays in the eggs nesters but also in the hay racks. But nice clean pretty eggs. Already sold 3 dozen so far with other people wanting some. I did start feeding them layer feed. They are almost done with their 2nd bag.
So we are back in the egg business again!

Posted - Feb 09 2012 : 1:12:19 PM 13 today!! One of the eggs was cracked though. So to the dogs it goes. I need to go on an egg hunt to see of some are laying in other places. Whenever I hear them singing I go look to see where they came from and check it out for eggs. But nothing. They must just be happy.
I hope you get plenty of eggs too soon, Hosanna.
Marly, do you have chickens?
Kris

Posted - Feb 09 2012 : 10:25:30 AM My 7 girls have been laying all winter... more or less. There were a couple weeks when I only got one or two a day though. My four fall babies should start laying this spring too; so excited! Then I'll be getting almost a dozen a day also! SO impatient for Spring to arrive!
