We all know our farm animals are an extention of our family..we talk to them like friends and take care of them like family...we aren't farmgirls without them, they are the farm!

So, please share your farm "family and friends" with us all here on this thread, sure would love to meet them!

Meet our Petunia...isn't she such a pretty gal?!

I just found out a few days ago that our pony Dusty is now blind in both eyes. Pics on page 6. My brother (our horses are kept on his farm) says that he walks into the side of the barn and runs into the other horses and the cow. The cow is rather mean when Dusty walks into him and he kicks him. My dad and brother are going to try and keep him on a lead line tied to a post in the pen with the goats. Other than being blind he is in good health. He is going on 18 years so he has lived a good life for a pony! We decided if he seems to get along ok with the goats and continues to eat and be healthy we will keep him around as long as possible. If he deteriorates we will do the right thing and have him put down. The kids are all aware of the situation and they have already decided were on the farm to bury him and they each want to say something at his funeral! Glad our kids understand the facts of life and death. One advantage of growing up on a farm with animals.

Megan, that is so cute! He is a sweetie. I am feeding my friend's horse while she's out of town this week. He's 32 years old. I have to mix his food up for him. He looks good for being that age.

jigs is broke to ride and drive, he's getting up there in age... not really sure how old, but starting to act arthritic and slow. He will get to grow old on this farm, no more bad owns. He was a type of rescue this picture doesnt show the muscle atrophy on his back and thats ok.

Debra, did you mean to say addiction or addition? That's too funny if you meant addiction because I sure know what you mean. They sure can become addictive, like you can't stop at just one! She is adorable. Do you have others?

Brandee, that little doe is so cute. I can hardly wait to see my Nubian doe's kids. She should have them any day now. I hope I get some spots. I just love Nubians. So totally different from the Lamancha. Which I love too. But there's just something about those long floppy ears.
