Did anyone else see the news on Cesar Milan's website about the poor elephant whose best friend was a dog and the dog was killed by coyotes? My daughter and I cried at this story. We followed their story for a while now, and even read a child's book about them. Humans could learn from their amazing friendship and unconditional love. The link to the story is here:http://www.cesarsway.com/newsandevents/dognews/Tarra-the-Elephant-and-Bella-the-Dog?utm_source=mobilestorm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=BellaTarra

didn't rattle me, I just read a differant story than you and others, either way it is extremly sad, and I hope Tarra will not mourn her best friend, but clebrate her memories forever...

Sorry girls, didn't mean to rattle everyone. I just thought it was sad that the elephant lost her special friend. Their bond was so unique and wonderful.

Putting the coyotes or death by natural causes aside... These two had a very special and unusual relationship. Thanks for sharing.

Whoa. That is strange. To be fair, I wondered how it could happen with the elephant there, as well.

The story I read last week from their monthly e-mail news, that I get stated natural causes by the sanctuary, I wonder why they changed the story, as I find it hard to beleive that coyotes could get to her with her elephant friend by her side at all times...sad, either way...

By the way, I should also add it is very heartbreaking. f

No, actually, it's a true story, it's on their own Hohenwonwald Tennessee sanctuary site. The interview an story is done by CBS.The poor dog was apparently killed by coyotes. I doubt the sanctuary would have the story aired if it didn't happen that way. Here's the link:

WOW, the true story has sure snowballed from the truth, Bella died from natural causes in Tn, at the elephant sanctuary, not from Coyotes...
