Sat. we are going to a playday and one of the events is a horse costume contest. My daughter is dressing the appaloosa as a hippy and the black as an xray using white non toxic kid-safe paint for the bones. I am looking forward to seeing this. Her friend is doing the pink panther. Will let you know what happens.

Will do Tina. Thank you. My daughters career goal is to be a vet specializing in equine care. She was right beside that vet hanging on every word. He showed her how to inject the med etc. and she felt a taste of her career.

I would assume the vet checked her teeth, and she does not need to be floated, I have had a couple of very senior horses over the yrs, and one of them, I had to soak hay replacer pellets in order for him not to choke, and always mixed in his senior grain with the pellets that were soaked...My point is, keep an eye on her, and make sure she is ok with her other feed as well...

Well this didnt go the way we planned at all but what does in life? We unloaded the first horse and things were not good so we hurried home and called the vet. She was choked. The grain from this morning lodged in her esophogus.Isnt it funny how vets make house calls but drs dont? Anyhow he gave her muscle relaxers and then ran a tube thru her nose into her esophogus and shot water thru it. She will be fine but now we need to water down her grain all the time so this doesnt happen again. She is 19 and my daughters baby. I dont know what this will cost but if you could have seen the look on my daughters face when she thought we were loosing her the chance had to be taken. So thats why we have no pics and of course were disappointed but it ended well.
