Does anyone have an angora rabbit? If so how do you spin it etc.? What do you use the fur for? I'm a new beginner in fibers. Would love to learn from all you farmgirls.
Thanks for any helps you have for me. Also would be interested in what you make out of your angora rabbit fur

Debra, I don't but a friend does and she uses the fur to spin. The fur can be combed or plucked off--that is the traditional way to do it, but you can also shave the fur off. Since it is very loose, you usually have to blend it in with other fibers that hold their shape better, such as sheep or llama, because the rabbit fibers tend not to hold shape or be long enough for spinning.

Hope this helps

I'm a wanna be beginner in fibers! Maybe we can learn together? I don't have angora rabbits, yet. I've got Satin rabbits. I'm interested in getting alpacas and working with their fiber. We have a fiber guild here that I hope to join. Their moto is "Each one Teach one" so you know they're willing to teach!!!
