Hi Ladies-

I just wanted to update you on Sky. She had her ACL surgery in late July and never really recovered. She had an up and down recovery. I was so sure that she was on her way to recovery after this last round of antibiotics. She was eating again and seeming to have more energy.

Unfortunatly in the last two days she had another crash. We were going to head back to our vet in Wyoming for further treatment, but she passed away in my arms tonight.

Thanks for all the love and support. I appreciate it.

Feeling for you, Alee! I just recently lost my horse, Blue, a month ago. I had her since I was 11 years old and I did most of her training myself. It was a really difficult loss and I know how you feel. Keeping you in my prayers...

My heart goes out to you I know what it's like to lose a pet that is like a member of the family. Been 3 years since my pekingese Buddie pasted on to a better place. He was 12 when he died and I miss him every day and still get crying spells. God be with you in your time of sorrow.

Alee, I join you with tears right now. I know how much Skye meant to you and you were a good friend to her. Take comfort in knowing you were with her to the end, and yes, I believe you will be reunited with her one day.

Alee,

My heart sank when I saw the subject line of your post. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you did everything possible and I'm sure Sky was very thankful to have had such a wonderful mom as you.

Hugs to you and yours.

Alee,

I know how you feel. I lost my horse Nevada last fall after 17+ years. I still cry whenever I think of her. Miss her desperately. But I just figure God needed a smooth ride and chose the best Peruvian Paso on earth for Himself!

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

You ladies are all so loving- I really appreciate it. I am feeling mostly at peace. Sad, but at peace. I took every measure I could think of to help save her life but it just wasn't enough at the end. She was a great friend and some day I will see her again. Heaven better have Jolly Balls for her to chase! :) At least now her leg doesn't hurt and she can run again.

Thank you everyone. She was a very special dog. She helped me get over my home sickness when I moved 725 miles from home. She was there for me through two miscarriages various ups and downs the birth of Nora and our move to Montana. She was patient, loyal to a fault and kind. I am thankful for everyday we had her.

She is buried up on a hill beneath a juniper tree. We made a rock cairn and dad made a cedar cross. We still need to scatter the ashes of my dog Seanee who I had since I was twelve until the week of my marriage. I figured my two best friends can share the same location

Alee,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I too will miss Sky. She was such a sweet and gentle one. The place you mentioned in your earlier post of where you buried her sounds so soft and sweet for her final resting spot.

I will always remember her as the spirited but gentle and sweet Sky for ever.
