I 'rescued' a lame pigeon many years ago, named it 'Chuckie', brought it to my house, fed it cornmeal, gave it water and took care of it until it was strong enough to fly away and join it's friends. I was smiling to myself and happy to see the lone pigeon. Today...when I walked out to my chicken coop to check on my bantam chicks, there sat the pigeon in the middle of the chicks, in the chicken coop, happy as could be!!! I couldn't believe it, I burst right out laughing. I sat down quietly and watched for a while. The chicks basically ignored the pigeon and it sat quietly on the roost like it belonged there. I went back out to shut up the coop and it was gone. Just wanted to share my chuckle for the day!
