A few weeks ago I started a topic about finding ticks. I have an update, because I got a tick bite - on my head! We pulled it off,and I killed it. A couple days later I noticed there was still a little bump, and it hurt a little, so I was advised to head to the urgent care...which I did. There was no bug part left inside, just maybe a little infected, so he gave me an antibiotic. But here's what I wanted to share...he said if it's lyme disease, the bite area will be large and black around the bite, and the bite will give off a black pus. He also asked if I had any stomach problems since the bite, which I didn't. So I just wanted to pass that info on, since you've all been so helpful to me.

Take care everybody
Kathy

I will hope that you are well Kathy - that is no lite matter. Sherrye your right living with Lyme is horrible I have several friends and customers who are just hanging on with all the symptoms and aftermath of contracting Lyme. There was a very interesting PBS show about it... Take care and thanks for reminding us all.

I'm so glad you are ok, Kathy. That is so scary. I have not had any on me but have found some on the dogs. And Earl the ram lamb had one on his ear.

Ack! Botflies! Nasty...we find lots of stray cats that show up who have been...um...used as a carrier for the botfly larvae. N-A-S-T-Y!

Here they're horrible, too. Them, fleas, and botflies.

Amazing what those bugs can do, isn't it? I've always just went with the "bullseye" mark as a sign to see the doc, but every little bit of info helps. We have so many ticks here and they are constantly on us! Ack!
