Yesterday I was outside with my dogs and my lab/shepherd cross found a starved cat under my cedar hedge. She's a long hair tan with black stripes and has lost all the hair on her legs and belly. Her bones are sticking out and if it wasn't for her skin she would be a skeleton, that is how bad she is. She was even wobbly on her legs when she walked. Of course, I had to cuddle her, fleas and all, put her in our shed with a warm bed, powdered her with baking soda to get rid of fleas, water and fed her wet cat food every couple hours. By late last night she was purring a bit. She's not skittish and has now used the litter box several times. This morning she is a bit more perky but oh she is so skinny. I have never seen an animal that starved and it is heartbreaking. Today I am taking her to the SPCA shelter and they will find her a nice home. I can't keep her because I have a very old cat, 21, and it would be too hard on her. I am so glad I found her and she will be okay. Just had to share.

Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do!

God bless you Ingrid!!

We recently lost our dear pet but he was found within two days. I worried about him not having any water or food or that someone would be mean to him. It warms my heart to know that when a pet is lost which obviously this little cat was, that there was someone wonderful like you that made an effort and took the time to help her-It's just wonderful....

I am sure she will find a good home....

Back in the days of hobos they had a sign they would carve or paint on a post or tree to tell other hobos the house had a kind woman living there. It was a cat. Nuff said!

Ingrid,
You are such a good person for that! What a lucky kitty. My daughter and I found a skinny, scrawny cat in our yard last year and we called a numnber on a poster that had been up for months. It was his owner! They were so happy to have him home and had just about lost hope. He had gotten out when they had taken him to the vet. He ended up back at his home, fed up, and is now a fat, happy house cat. Poor little babies. Rescued animals know they've been rescued.

Hugs,

Nicole

It is sad to think how many strays are out there!
