I was thinking about getting a solar kit from harbor frieght to hook up a fan for my chickens we are in East Texas and it is very hot and no rain. Has anyone ever use one or what might you have sent up for a light and fun in your chicken house?

We are also a big shopper of HF at our home. My dad remarks that they are cheap and chinese but they work, they work well for several years. I know the set is about 75 or so and if you are willing to try i say go for it.

I don't have a chicken coop yet, but have already purchased a solar light for the winter. I live in Nevada, so sun is never really a problem. I also purchased a motion activated solar light for my front porch this past winter fron Harbor Freight. Was a snap to install. Had to let it charge for three days before turning it on, but it works great. I've never been unhappy with anything I've purchased there.

We just started raising our chickens, would love photos and lots of advice on how you both have done with your chickens. My dad built the current coop we have but have found it's a bit cramped so we have staked out our run area and will be putting the wire and top frames up this weekend. I'm already starting to think about winter and winterizing a second coup I bought, but I'm always into what others have done with their chickens.
