My son has 3 rabbits, two females, and one male. The cages are lined up in a row. The one rabbit he bred successfully, and she had her babies about a week and a half ago. The other one was too small yet, so he didn't breed her yet. She is now heavy enough and he put her in with the male and she freaked out, fighting, etc. (no mating)--kind of like when you put one in who's already pregnant. Now, 3 days later, she is pulling out fur. She cannot be pregnant, she was not in with the male at any other time. So what's going on? Will she get over this? thanks for info you may have!

Sheila,
Have you checked her "parts" to see if she is ready? If not, put her on her back in your arms like a baby, and grasp her tail and pull down with one hand. With the other hand, pull back on the tuft of fur just above her vent. It should protrude enough for you to tell that she is indeed a "she". You are looking for the color of the tissue. White to pale pink means not ready, medium pink to dark pinkish-red means probably ready, and red to purple means WHOA MAMA, WHERE'S THAT BUCK? LOL If she doesn't look ready, wait a day or two and check again.

wait till she calms down, and is no longer acting as if she were pregnant, then try breeding again. Maiden does will argue and complain alot the 1st time, as long as she does not attack the buck, it will be ok. If she flat out refuses to be bred, she probally is not in heat, wait aday and try again...

she is having a false pregnacy, due to the other doe kindling or a first heat, it happens..

we've had her since april and there's a 5 foot gap and another cage between her and the buck! :)

is there a cage between the buck and doe?? or just wire seperating them?? They could have mated thru the wire so she could be pregnant,how long have you had them? could you have gotten her already bred?
