Posted - Jun 03 2011 : 4:33:18 PMParsley is good for them - great mineral and ensymes that they should have. Goat are selective eaters and would do best with just what they could find in a feild or forest.. Grain really is where they get into trouble. Pine needles, thistles, dandelions, rose hips and such are very vital to their health. P{arsley is great for their brain and blood so he went for just what he needed.

Posted - Jun 03 2011 : 3:10:33 PMMine are very picky eaters. They will NOT eat everything. In fact, there are some things they won't touch. And most of the time they know what to stay away from. But sometimes they get carried away and eat something they shouldn't and they get very sick. And in some cases, die. But parsley is fine for them. Too bad for you though!

Posted - Jun 03 2011 : 12:06:51 PMthanks, he seems fine today, but I have a little less parsley now LOL!
Posted - Jun 03 2011 : 10:00:59 AMNo actually they can't & won't. They are the pickiest eaters I have ever seen! They will pick through there food & actually spit out what they don't like! They are browsers which mean they like trees & leaves & such. Therefore the paper label on the cans usually attracts them! I had a doe that didn't like the oats in her grain mix & would literally pick it out & spit it to the side! It was humorous!

Posted - Jun 03 2011 : 09:30:11 AMI thought goats could eat anything! Pictures in old children's books always show the goat with a tin can hanging out of it's mouth.
