Posted - May 31 2011 : 11:51:57 AM At work we are having discussions about ear tagging.
In the zoo world, traditionally males are tagged in the right ear, and females are tagged in the left ear.
Is this also universal for the sheep and goat world?
Is there a reason?
I'd appreciate as much input as possible
Thanks! |

Posted - Jun 04 2011 : 09:50:30 AM Well,
Thanks for the tidbits and info. The NLIS helped me search out a little more of what I was looking for.
So many times-especially smaller zoos, they take basice farm info and apply it to the exotic hooved creatures. After all, from the inside out, most ungulates are pretty much the same |

Posted - Jun 03 2011 : 06:34:46 AM i have the tags for my goats in their"baby book". we don't put them in because they can get ripped out. but you need to have them on hand if someone comes out to look at your herd

Posted - Jun 01 2011 : 05:24:51 AM I only have scapies tags. Other then that all my "tagging" is thru records and ear tattoos.
I am wondering what every one else does.
