Posted - Apr 19 2011 : 3:33:19 PM I am so excited! This summer I am going to a skill center where I'll be taking, their Pre- Veterinary Technician program. The summer course is kind of like a trial course to see if this is something you want to go into, as it's only a 2 weeks ( its 2 very intense weeks though) course. Then after that , if you liked it you can sign up for the year ( which I will be doing!). The (PVT) program is designed to prepare students to enter the animal health care field. The program includes both theory and practical application of skills and concepts, such as animal restraint, anatomy, physiology, husbandry and disease process. Students gain hands-on experience in area clinics and as program completers, students are comprehensively prepared to enter any college Veterinary Technician Program. . -Up to 15 free college credits -Prepare for animal health care field -Participate in 20-hour internship with area clinics -Prepare for any college Vet Program -Earn high school science credit I am so excited and can hardly wait to start! Wish me luck! Hugs, Hannah

Posted - Apr 20 2011 : 11:12:44 AM Thank you all so much! You are all so supportive and encouraging!
Karen, yes my plan is to go on to be a Veterinarian. I would tell you my whole plan but I’m afraid I would bore all of you to tears. LOL! I do know a little about animal message but not a whole lot. I can’t seem to find a whole lot of info on it although I did find a book from the library on Equine message. It looks so cool!

The animals of the world just became luckier because you will soon be able to help them stay healthy.
Will you be a veterinary assistant or do you think you'll go all the way through and become a vet?
In any case, I wish you all the best!
Karen
PS Do you know anything about animal massage? I'm deeply interested in that.

Posted - Apr 20 2011 : 04:40:55 AM Hannah, that is great. I am happy for you. I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid. Then found out how long I would be in school. So I didn't do it. I would cry too much anyway. But I know you will be so good at it. And if you enjoy it I'm sure the time will pass much too quickly.
