I have always wanted to have a chicken coop w/ several egg laying hens. I thought I'd have to live on a farm, but recently realized many suburbanites have coops. I belong to the site:

any other ideas, tips, suggestions, phoos of your chickens and coops is gratefully accepted.

Best book we ever read on the subject was Chickens in Your Backyard by Rick and Gail Luttmann - actually got it from a farmgirl here! Good luck - chickens are great!!

There is tons of info on the internet. "Keeping Chickens Newsletter" is a monthly publication I get by email and it has been helpful. You will love keeping chicks, it's good for your mental health!

Back Yard Chickens is a great site! I'm NakPakChick on there, but I haven't logged on in ages. :) There's also lots of pictures and tips on My Pet Chicken. I ordered my silver laced wyandottes and buff orpingtons from My Pet Chicken last summer, they were great to work with.

You can find pics of my girls on my blog :)
