I'm looking for instructions to build something similar to this

so we can move the chickens around when needed (otherwise they are free range, but get too close to the road sometimes)

I've seen this basic design on quite a few internet sites. Just google chicken tractors or chicken coops and you'll get lots of hits. I'm looking at the same idea for my next flock.

i am learning new things every day here. well my son gave us a flat bed double axle trailer. papa re-welded it and fixed it. we are going to put a wire floor on the house part. so poop will fall through the wire. a few years back,,,when i had money,,LOL,, i bought for cheap a metal enclosed trailer. it had been used for irrigation supplies. i can stand up in it. we have used it for a chick grower room. we are converting it into a chicken tractor.it is aluminum and in good shape. now i am figuring the inside. it has cubbys for small irrigation supplies. we are going to convert the holes to nest boxes. the other side will hold the roosts. on the outside of the house is where water and food storage will go. it has a trailer tongue. so we can move it in the pasture with the tractor. they will scratch and clean up the poop from our deater herd. papa is so creative. we sure have fun together. best friends we are. he made me a pine cupboard last week. its in my kitchen. hows those fires burning kris? i saw you had a crash while out getting wood and hay. are you cozy? happy days sherrye

I don't have instructions either, have you checked with your cooperative education dept? But when I saw this thread I just wanted to let Sherrye know I finally answered your questions about my coop in the all things chicken thread.
I do agree with herb that more than 2 or 3 and you will want something bigger. Our coop which is 4 by 8 by 8 feet is, in my opinion, almost to small for my 12 chickens.

I made one similar to the one you are looking at and would like to give you my thoughts....
When it is dry, it is very easy to move ~ when it is wet (after a heavy rain ~ it is a monster).
I like the fact that it has a door on the bottom. The one I made did not and it was a bear to have to get the chickens out of the bottom.
I felt it was ok for 2 or three chickens, but after that, I thought it was too small.
I noticed that the one you were looking at did not have a floor, I would be nervous about that. I have had some problems with dogs.
Otherwise, congratulations on your adventours undertaking. Please let me know how you make out.

This is too funny. When I saw the topic was chicken tractor I thought someone was making a joke. I didn't know that's what these things were called. Sorry I can't help with any instructions but I'm sure someone else will.
