I have 6 cats. 1 is a house cat. Well, was a house cat. This summer she wanted out and she has stayed out til a few mornings ago. Poor cat. I thought she was frozen. She came in and looked a bit sick. But maybe she was just really cold. She slept in the cat box for 2 days. She's fine now.

Well, she just pooped. And man, is that nasty! I sure did not miss that stench at all while she was out. She may just have to spend the days outside and just come in at night if she's gonna stink that bad. It is awful. And I have no spray at all. I had a nice vanilla candle burning but can't smell it anymore. Yuck!

So what is a good thing to keep the smell down? I scooped it up right away and took it outside but it's still lingering.

Try TidyCat Breeze litter system. Yes, still gross, but not as much so. You change the pad weekly, the litter every so often, and scoop and flush or trash it.
Might try changing her food if it seems unusually gross.

Oh, thanks for posting that site! We have a small house and smells seem to linger forever in here. I'm going to have to try the boiling vinegar.

I also will mix equal parts of water and fresh squeezed lemon juice in a spray bottle. I love the smell of lemons and it makes the house smell so good!

Thank you, Kathy. I will look for a spray bottle now and try this. I have all the ingredients. It's finally smelling like a vanilla cookie in here again.

Here's an idea http://www.ehow.com/how_4425293_eliminate-odors-vinegar.html I have boiled a small amount of vinegar with water to get rid of fish smells in the house.

Never tried the spray bottle idea with vinegar and baking soda but I'm gonna try it with rosemary and thyme EO. I tried this oil combo in a spray bottle with water and alcohol with my tom cat and it had a very clean smell and it kept him from wanting to mark on my doors.
