Posted - Dec 12 2010 : 3:23:30 PM I had to cancel my dog's pet insurance policy. Just couldn't afford it any longer. Over the past six years, it's gone up by twenty-two dollars per month. My own insurance is going up, along with deductibles...I have bills to pay, and frankly, the pet insurance was a splurge. He's twelve years old, still healthy, but I know he won't be around forever. He's already lived longer than most boxers. I just feel bad having to cancel it. Like I'm a bad dog mom. (Though he tells me I'm really the best). Cindy

Posted - Dec 12 2010 : 9:42:28 PM Grace--that is so sad about people dumping their dogs. Around here, a sheltie was found with an arrow through her abdomen. Her owners couldn't afford to pay the vet so a local celebrity figure is going to pay the bill. Hopefully she'll recover and have a forever home. I don't understand how people can be cruel to animals. The Bible says "A righteous man has regard for the life of his beast." Just wish times weren't so tough. And Sherrye, you're right, Boxer and I have each other and the future is unknown. Just have to trust that things will work out. Cindy

Posted - Dec 12 2010 : 6:46:07 PM Cindy, you are a wonderful doggy mommy - the mear thought that you are concerned about the welfare of your sweet dog is more then most folks. We have folks dumping their animals out here in the country rather then to care for them. It is hard times for all of us and we do the best we can - give that sweet four legged family member big hugs and know you are providing a loving home today. No one can see into the future...
Blessings and give a hug to you both from this four legged furry family member mommy....
