Posted - Jun 08 2010 : 5:21:34 PM If we don't pick up the cat food bowl from our porch at night, the raccoons will help themselves! Usually a rattle of the door will scare them away, but one persistent fellow stopped eating long enough to stare at me then went right back to the cat food. So, I threw a shoe at him - not a good idea. He let out some kind of growl/hiss so I closed the door and figured, I can always get more cat food!

Posted - Jun 08 2010 : 5:13:45 PM Iagree.. even as adults they are still kinf of cute until cornered.
At one of the past zoos I worked at, we actually had a small rehab thing going and every year would end up raising a pen full of raccoons.
I love how their hands feel |

Posted - Jun 07 2010 : 2:14:29 PM I hope he stays safe. Last fall I watched a fox in my yard for over an hour, grooming, napping, ploting ways to get to my chickens..... He was fun to watch tho
Forget buns of steel, I'd rather have buns of cinnamon!
