Posted - Jun 06 2010 : 10:20:34 AM This is a pic of Rocky, our llama, being fed alfalfa by our son, Jeremy. Rocky is probably about 20 years old, hangs out in our small apple orchard, eats weeds, entertains the neighbors and keeps a very watchful eye on us. He is very curious and comes running to the fence any time he sees one of us outside. He is friendly and gives what we call "butterfly kisses". His friendliness is on his terms but he has never spat or kicked or such like. I sometimes call him "banana ears" or "llama lips".
Jeremy is 36 years old and has Down Syndrome, but is a fun guy with a great sense of humor, is an awesome dancer and a super guy!! Thanks for looking! CJ

Posted - Jun 07 2010 : 05:44:24 AM CJ, your son looks like he is a pro at feeding that llama. I am so afraid of them. My friend has one and I can't even get too close. They are just scary to me. Have you had him all the 20 years?
Kris

Posted - Jun 06 2010 : 12:22:43 PM How great! I thought we had a one of a kind llama, she was a rescue. The previous owners were going to just leave her on their property when they lost it to the bank. So I took her. I do not know her age, or history. But her last two years here have filled us with great joy! She is always curious, loves all our animals and has never spat at humans! Now when we had cows, she spat at them all the time! She would run up to them, out her lips two inches from their heads and spit! I think it was because they would be pushy, so she was spitty! She always greets all visitors, sniffs, and rubs her lips on your cheeks. Our neighbors love her. Infact I have been forbiden to ever get rid if her! Thanks for sharing.
