Sorry I've not been around much lately - its been busy around home with all the hatching going on.

Last Wednesday we had 10 out of 12 Boff Orpington eggs hatch in the incubator my hubby made. We were very excited about that! (My six year old son CRIED when the first one hatched, he was so happy!)We got them moved out into the brooder in the barn (now dealing with a couple pasty bottoms) but things seem to be going well.

We moved the 5 week old chickens out into the heated chicken tractor...of course during the week that its been so cold and rainy. Of course they are doing fine and I probably worry about them way more than I need to.

Then tonight, just a few minutes ago I happen to walk by the incubator again (with duck eggs, now) and noticed that even though hatching day isn't until Wednesday, we have cracks in 8 out of 11 Khaki Campbell duck eggs! OH MY. This is busy stuff going on here! Hopefully we will have another successful hatch...

This is too fun. Makes my head spin...but so much fun to be doing it!!

More babies! Aren't they just the cutest little things? I love my Buffs. I am having lots of chicks hatching now too. But thankfully the mommas are raising them for me. And a whole lot cheaper! Have fun with your babes. I hope all the ducks hatch too.
