How do you manage/minimize shedding with an inside dog?

We adopted a new furkid who is best described as a wheaten terrier/shepherd mix.

He looks so much like a wheaten we were hoping he wouldn't shed; however, I'm finding fuzzies all over the house!

Boomer gets groomed regularly and is brushed almost every day. The groomer gave him a "shedding" treatment today. Don't really know how well it worked as the inside of my SUV is covered in dog hair.

Any tips or tricks would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing. Fortunately, the dog hair blends with the carpet. I'll have to adjust to brushing Handsome and vacuuming on a daily basis!

We have a golden inside too and even after I've finished sweeping the floor there's still hair to be found. Even if you brush them everyday they still shed. I'm like you Amy, it's just part of the decor.

Dog hair is just part of the decor here ;) We have four inside golden retrievers and we have never found a way to stop them from shedding. So we just say its part of some fancy style of decorating. I'm sure we'll be featured in a magazine soon. ;)

My German Shepherd sheds all the time. When you brush your dog use and undercoat rake - it really helps get more of the fine hair out. It helps a little but I always have dog hair too. I do collect it to spin (what I brush out not what I sweep up).

My newfoundland sheds 2 times a year and I fill up a large paper grocery bag packed tight. Her hair falls out in clumps and at different rates I have gone though 3 vacumes and brush her every day.
Soooooo if you don't like dog hair don't come to my house.

Shepherds shed a lot and in spring it is bad. My only advice is to brush your dog every day outside, the birds will love the hair, and with my dog I brush against his hair which tends to bring out more of the undergrowth. Other than that there isn't much else you can do.

Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do!

I have dog hair everywhere! Collect it and spin it into yarn and make a scarf!

I wish I had an answer for you but I don't - the only thing I can say is maybe when spring is over it won't be so bad. Our spring molt (basset hound) seems to have slowed down a little here
