Posted - Apr 11 2010 : 2:10:00 PM about chickens. We live on 3/4 acre plot, in town, that grows more weeds and prairie grass than I have ever seen. In years past as I have weeded to get ready for the garden the piles of weeds have threatened to take over - this year I have chickens - they eat the weeds!!! I love that!! Then we get eggs!! For weeds!! how cool is that?

Posted - Apr 11 2010 : 3:44:16 PM Isn't it wonderful? I do the same with my chickens. I also hand pick the weeds in my garden and feed them to my bunnies, who turn it into 'brown gold', if you will, which is put right back into the garden. Truly, the circle of life, right? :0)

Posted - Apr 11 2010 : 2:47:06 PM I love to see my hens pecking at the grass and weeds. And it's very evident in their very almost orange yolks.
