we have a 4 month weaned kid coming. can i put her with the buck and girls?

ok kris, thank you so much. i had chosen to leave her out. it looked ok to me. so i came in took a nice bath. came on line andthere was my answer. so i got dressed and went down and put her in a crate in the goat barn. she cried like crazy. not quite dark here yet. so big goats are still up. she is so cute. red boer head lamancha face and ears with a boer flip on the end of the ear too much. her mama died at birth. she was a c section. bottle fed. born jan. lived in house with her for 3 months. she is so sweet and nuzzles in to my chest. i wish i was keeping her. she is the perfect gift for my granddaughter. she is on 80 acres. they lease and our beef dexters are there. this little goat would follow her everywhere. she dresses her cats and pushes them around the farm in a stroller. they love her.so i know they would be great buddies is mom and dad say its ok. thanks for getting back to me.i would feel awful if the little girl got hurt. i will look for another around her age. i could get a wether. sherrye

Sherrye, I would not put her in with a strange buck. I'd do what you were going to do with the wire crate in the barn so she can see the other goats. Keep her away from the buck. And the does will probably be really mean to her at first. So you might think about another doeling about her age and size to keep her with til she's bigger.The older bigger does always gang up on new goats. Good luck with all that's going on there. Sounds like you have your hands full with all those new critters.

maybe i should crate her and put crate in barn with goats. i have a wire crate???thanks girls

all the goats are in a large pen with an insulated barn. it has a flap door so they can go in and out. its going to be cold tonight. thought of crating her and putting in house. i think she would cry all night. any ideas? sherrye
