Posted - Apr 07 2010 : 4:08:07 PM So the eggs from the incubator my hubby built haven't hatched yet. We candled them on day 12 and they were very active and dancing around in there - very cool to see. Day 21 would have been Monday (5th) or Tuesday (6th)(I suppose depending on how you counted) and nothing has happened yet. Hubby is bummed. We know if you under incubate they can be a little late (which Hubby thinks the incubator is a little on the cool side so figured things would be a wee bit late) but now he's getting discouraged. He looked in there awhile ago and thinks a few of the eggs look deformed, as in they aren't quite round...maybe a few bumps outs in the egg. Is that possible? They weren't there before. Are we imagining things? Any ideas? How long would you wait before calling it a no-hatch? Thanks ladies!!

Posted - Apr 08 2010 : 06:16:32 AM Sorry to hear you didn't have a hatch. We had one come on the 23rd day, incubated about the same time as you. Did you give them extra moisture nearing the hatch date? We gave away our firt hatch and now have started a second setting. Our hatch was just half of the eggs incubated, that's OK. We didn't know for sure which ones were fertile. Marcie
