ginger has a boyfriend. she has creme colored fluid is that good. he seems to have liked her. also if betty boop is not bred will all this help pull her cycle in. he is pretty cute. tongue hanging out showing lip and teeth. he is a boer. betty is boer and ginger is lamancha. fun on the farm sherrye

Most goats are "Seasonal" breeders (once or twice a year, depending on the breed). Nigerian Dwarf goats on the other hand.... ANY TIME OF YEAR!!!!!!! I have a few getting ready to POP--- AGAIN! (Those doggone bucks of mine...grrrr!!!!!)

they are my little sweeties. Abigale anf Feona. i raised them fromone day old. one had to be pulled. we saw the whole thing. i said i want her. so much fun. fed them every 3 and 4 hours through the nights. they became to head strong and big for me. i gave them to my papa johns twin brother. they brought them to see the buck. they remember me. they kiss my face and nuzzle. so very cute. fifi has a camel face in light deer color.i get to pick a doe out of them. that will be good. we get hot here too. the girls have an insulated goat barn. kinda spoiled.lol so no heat worries. plus giant old growth juniper trees on our place. some are 1500 years ols. i sure hope the nubiens come into heat and it works. sherrye

I think there are certain breeds that can breed all year. But then again that might be sheep. I don't know. I do know that in extreme hot and cold weather the bucks can't breed. Also fat goats won't breed. A friend of mine up the road wants to borrow my buck that's in Tn, right now to breed his doe he got from me last year. He wants the buck now. So I have to go get him next week. And gas is so high right now. I guess I could get him to buy gas for me. Anyway, I would not want a doe to go through the hot summer pregnant. Not here anyway. It's just too hot. And humid. And they are miserable enough in the heat without having to carry around all that extra weight. Poor things. But that's what he wants. If she gets pregnant she'll be due in September. But goats all around here are having them all year.
Sherrye, that makes sense about the longer days too. So you have Nubians too? Where have they been? I have bred my Nubian to a Boer buck. They were the cutest kids ever. Really long floppy ears.

kris and the other gals know more about it. i think i am at the end of the good season. i believe when the days get longer they do not cycle. vet told me get it done now or will be too late. so the borrowed stincky buck is here. very cute boer. i know my goats were happy to see him. even if we are late. we have my friend lisa goat here and my 2 nubiens i gave away.so he is a happy buck sherrye i am sure they will come on and get it right for us. sherrye

Is it normal for goats to breed anytime, or are they spring and fall? How does that work?

yup its normal to have cream colored fluid. My goats always get that when they are going into heat. Best of luck!!
