Posted - Apr 01 2010 : 11:32:30 AM Well you all know that we did the iron thing on Ebonys horns? Well it looks like it did not work and she might have scurs ( I think I spelled that right. sorry if I didn't.) for the rest of her life. I am pretty sure that it is to late to do it again. But we now know what to do with Esther's babies. Just thought I would let you know. Hugs, Channah

Posted - Apr 02 2010 : 09:02:44 AM We had a doe that was given to us, that was de-horned as a kid. She did grow back some nubs. One side grew more than the other, and once it got to be about 2 inches long would get really loose. So when she'd scratch her head on me I'd goof with it. Only took about a week and I was able to pull it off. Didn't bother her one bit when I did it. You should be ok.

Posted - Apr 01 2010 : 1:39:03 PM Well darn. I think you can do them again because I have taken mine back to my friend and she's taken them off. Does are usually better than the bucks about not growing back. But I did have a doe that had about 2" long horns. They finally both fell off during some serious head butting. Then she had little nubs.
Good luck if you try again.
Kris
