panting like dogs, it's so hot out there today. Poor fat pregnant goatie girls. They are just miserable. I have a nice cold bucket of water out there for them. They are all huge and waddling around so this does not make it easy for them. Abby just plopped down under a shade tree and she hasn't moved in an hour. I hope it just doesn't turn off real hot after all this freezing cold temps we've been having.

Anyone else hot out there today?

Kris

Catherine, that's what mine are doing. Real close to the fence. Every time I go out they talk to me. Poor girls. I can't wait for them to kid. I'm glad it's not going to be cold this week and into next. But who knows what around the corner! I have never bred t have kids this early. I like April kids. But the girls had other ideas and got out. So I just let it happen. I guess they know more than I do. I am ready for milk though. I miss goat milk.

Gena, it is great to have such nice days. I have been working in the garden. I want to plant peas. So I found some extra fence and I'll use that for them to run on. I have never planted peas before. I hope you have a great evening. Nice porch weather.

Yes, we're hot too. Well, not like what's coming in the summer. It rained earlier today so the humidity is way high and it feels like you're walking in soup. I have 8 goats ready to kid and they look so miserable. They have that "just get this over" look.

They are all sitting near the fence where they can see me. I glance over from time to time and it's as if they're asking me to help them. So pitiful, ha ha.

Kris, we are having the same weather here. I am glad Sara already had hers.
After Ellett went home, I have been outside, just looking for things to do.
I may have found some Oberhasli goats. I e-mailed her, but she hasn't e-mailed me back yet.
I love this weather. It is even suppose to be warmer tomorrow!!

Christine, yes we had snow last Monday and just yesterday the last of it melted. But today it got to 73 and this is hot for us right now. And they are all due in the next few weeks. It's supposed to just be in the 60's the rest of the week with rain towards the end and weekend. We are actually 2" below in rain this year. That's hard to believe with all the rain we've had.

Toby, so sorry your in the mud there. I know what that feels like. It's just now starting to dry up some and now more rain. I want a gradual spring and summer. Not get hit with this heat right away.

Oh, send the sunshine up my way!!! I could vent all day about the muddy mess around here!! Suppose to be rainy and foggy most of the week here. My goats look as if they have been mud wrestling!! LOL. I could just skip spring altogether and start with summer!!

Kris, weren't you having snow just a week ago?
It's warm here - about 50 degrees. Still cold enough for snow in areas, but it's melting and won't be long before it's all gone. The forecast calls for rain the next 4 days and we don't need any moisture what's so ever. It's a muddy mess out there.
I'm done rambling and venting about the messy weather here.

You poor dear goats. Are they to kid soon? Hope so for their sake.

Mother Nature sure has a way about things..............
