We have had a very eventful week this week. I would appreciate if some of you farmgirls could keep my baby bunnies in your prayers. That sounds sort of funny to nonfarmgirls but I knew you would understand.

You see I was given a retired show doe for Christmas from a dear friend of mine. I tried breeding her several times to no avail and finally got her bred. Her litter was due Tuesday.

Well Tuesday my doe was having problems delivering and I had to help pull the baby out. She had done all she could and only got the feet out before giving up. I gently pulled the baby out and rubbed it for at least 15 min but could not revive it. It only took 3 breaths and was gone. I cried much of the day and was very upset. When my husband came home he listenend patiently said he was sorry then reminded me that it was the anniversary of his brother's death. I had forgotten and thought it was this weekend. So I felt super bad for crying to him about a bunny when he was upset about his brother. We hugged and cried and went on.

This morning I had another doe delivering a litter while my son watched cartoons and I groomed a dog. I kept hearing a squeek and thought it was the cartoons. After the other doe was done I looked in her box to find 3 beautiful babies and immediately called my friend to tell her the good news. While we were talking on the phone I heard the squeek again but this time the cartoons were not on so I started looking all over and found a baby bunny under my retired show does cage in the tray. It had rolled out and fallen into the tray at the front. It was still alive and squeeking! I rubbed it to warm it up and put it in the box with the doe that had just delivered. I am amazed. If the baby would have fallen out the back it would have landed in my kids toy box.

Please pray for this little miracle bunny!

Great news! The bunnies are doing great!

The foster doe had 2 big blue babies (at least I think they will be blue color) and a smaller silver baby before I added the small pink baby. Well the blue babies were eating so much and pushing the 2 smaller babies away so I gave the show doe 2 babies to take care of since her milk came in and now both mamas are happily taking care of only 2 babies. I don't remember the last time the show doe was so peppy and happy looking. I swear she would be smiling if she could. Both moms are doing well and all 4 babies are warm and have full bellies.

Thanks so much for your prayers and I will post pics when they get bigger.

Awwwww.....I love all my house-bunns, so I will say a prayer for your bunny. Poor 'lil thing. I'm glad the other mama is taking care of him.

I will say a prayer for the little bunny. I'm sorry that the other one died--I used to have a house rabbit and I have a special fondness for the little critters.

Actually I took the retired show doe's nestbox out Thursday night after we delivered her baby on Tuesday that died. I thought she was done and didn't feel anything else. The other doe had her litter this morning just fine in her own nestbox. I would never have taken the nestbox out if I thought she had more babies. The escape baby belongs to the show doe so not only did it survive falling into the tray but she carried it 33 days. Now my brood doe is fostering it. I just hope it survives.

Might be a stupid question, but you do have a rabbit nest box in with her? and if you do, is it deep enough, and big enough for your doe's size?
